Document Solutions Australia (DSA) was formed in July 2001 when Colin Wheeler and Alan Thompson acquired the Konica Minolta Gold Coast branch. What started as a photocopier supplier has since evolved into a full-service business solution and technology provider.
Since its beginnings, the DSA team have built strong business foundations and corporate relationships that reach into business communities throughout the local Gold Coast region. Our attention to detail, focus on service delivery, and the desire to be well respected across the local business landscape have driven a company culture of excellence from the top down.
2023 has seen the next evolution of DSA, with the appointment of our third Director Craig McHenry. Craig has been our General Manager since day one and his reputation in the industry is unparalleled. His drive for efficiency will take the service we deliver to the next level.

Alan is joint owner of Document Solutions Australia and is the Sales Director of the company. His experience with the Konica Minolta product spans over 22 years. Starting as a technician, graduating to sales and sales management, Alan had a rounded education in the industry before purchasing the Gold Coast office with Colin from Konica Australia in 2001.
Colin is an original joint Owner and Director of Document Solutions Australia. He is now enjoying some time for himself, whilst continuing to support DocSol to assist in driving the company forward. Honesty and integrity are his bywords to maintain growth and a happy team!
Craig started with Konica Gold Coast in 1991 as a green trainee before working his way up to becoming Document Solutions Australia Service Manager for many years, and then moving to General Manager. Craig is now proudly an Owner and Director of DocSol and carries on his committed and compassionate approach with the whole team, making him well-respected across the company. Craig is also the best cyclist in the company!
Jen joined our team in January 2018. Having grown up in southern Sydney, she has resided on the Gold Coast since 2001. For Jen, family is an integral part of who she is, as is her love for music, dance and craft projects. She is committed to and highly driven in her role as Office Manager in the administrative heart of Document Solutions.
Barry joined our sales division in October 2017 as our Government/Education Sales Representative, having been in the print industry since early 2008. He grew up on the Gold Coast, left in 1989, and recently returned after 28 years away in Brisbane, Sydney and North Queensland. Barry has a daughter, and he is now living 300 metres from the beach with a fabulous girl.
Matt joined the Document Solutions team in March 2020 and is nearing 15 years of experience in the sales industry. He deals in the sale of both hardware and software solutions in the northern region of the Gold Coast. Outside of the office Matt loves sport – especially golf, horse racing and, of course, all footy codes!
Warren joined the sales team in March 2024. With over 20+ years in sales/account management in the wine/hospitality sector, he looks forward to transitioning into the world of copiers with his passion to provide the best possible account management and customer service experience. Outside the office Warren and his family are proud of the ‘tropical oasis’ they have created on the Gold Coast and enjoys all things gastronomy, viticulture, and travel.
Brendon joined our sales division in August 2016 as our IT Specialist Sales Representative. He is married with five children and enjoys helping people improve their lives through the use of new technology. Brendon’s experience in corporate, commercial, and consumer markets provides a vast background of understanding and application of technology solutions.
Karen joined the Document Solutions team back in 2010 as the Receptionist/Meter Reading Coordinator and then transferred to the Service Team in 2012. She has now Joined the IT Team in an administrative capacity and is looking forward to the challenge of learning all about the IT World. She has two gorgeous daughters, loves to travel, read and crochet.
Janica returned to the Gold Coast in 2021 after a decade in New Zealand. With a passion for family, friends and the beach, Janica enjoys watching sports and cherishes her time on holiday.
Tim is always up for a new challenge and loves to learn new things so he will fit right in at DocSol! He is also an animal lover who has a dog Koda and in his spare time, he likes to stay active (lucky Koda). He also loves a good audiobook or tv show, so feel free to ask him for recommendations when you call in.
Before joining our team, Angelo gained experience working as a Virtual Assistant/Admin Support, Customer Experience Specialist, and Technical Support for various clients. He also has a background as a Sales Assistant with basic knowledge of creating mockup designs using Adobe. Full of creativity and optimism, Angelo is always curious about how things work and loves diving in to figure things out.
Outside of work, Angelo is a car and motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys cycling in his free time and loves to travel. Whether it’s walking, running, cycling, or driving, he’s all about the joy of exploring and getting from one place to another.
When Gemma joined the DocSol family, she had only been in the country for 6 weeks! Originally hailing from New Zealand, she’s a mother of three daughters and she values family above all else. In her spare time, Gemma enjoys crafting, travelling and baking. The team is definitely hoping to reap the benefits of that last one! One last fact that might shock you – She also loves Lowriders!
With 5 years of experience, Mara supports businesses through CRM, Marketing Automation, SEO, and Social Media Management. She excels at creating tailored campaigns, streamlining marketing workflows, and managing client communications.
Previously an IT Instructor for 5 years, Mara brings a unique blend of technical skills and creative strategy to her work.
Beyond work, Mara is a true gamer at heart. Valorant and League of Legends are her go-to games, and her loyal pup Teemo (yes, named after that Teemo) is never far away. She brings that same passion and energy to her professional life—curious, committed, and always up for the next adventure.
Adam joined our technician team in 2010 and is another Welshman in the company, only he really does sound Welsh. Adam joined Konica Minolta in Wales in 1999 straight from school and is now here on the Gold Coast with a wealth of knowledge with the Konica Minolta products.
Justin is another brother in the Konica Minolta Service Technician Team. Justin specialises in the “big boys”. His career in the copier industry spans over 20 years with his beginnings in Tasmania in the late 1980’s. He learnt his trade as a business machine mechanic and completed an associate diploma in electrical engineering; Justin then moved to the Gold Coast and started with Document Solutions in 2004. ‘Big J’ specialises in the high end colour production machines and has extensive IT experience.
Andrew started his career in 1990 whilst completing an electronic engineering apprenticeship. From there Andrew moved on and worked on a large range of products in the copier industry. He was working as a sub-contractor for a number of years before making the very wise move over to Document Solutions in 2003. Andrew is fully trained on the majority of the Konica Minolta range and is furthering his skills by focusing on becoming a high-end production machine specialist.
Ian joined the DocSol team in June 2018 as our in-house Service Technician. His career in the copier industry expands over 37 years. Ian is married with three daughters and two sons. He is a lifelong basketball fan, played and coached lots and is proud to say his son played for the Townsville Crocodiles!
Trina joined the DocSol team in 2021. She started in the print industry 15 years ago as a Digital Printer before transitioning into a Service Technician role. Trina has two amazing daughters and in her downtime, enjoys keeping fit and spending time with family and friends.
Barry began his copier industry career in South Africa before making the move to Melbourne in 2014 to join Konica Minolta as a Production Technician. Now we are lucky enough to have Barry amongst our team up here on the sunny Gold Coast where he is enjoying camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with the family. He is most looking forward to being part of the DocSol team and building a relationship with our wonderful customers.
George came to us as a seasoned field services engineer who has spent years in the industry and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the DocSol team! When he’s not busy at work, keeping your printers in tip-top shape, you’ll find George either playing the drums or enjoying the great outdoors by surfing or camping. He is also partial to a Friday night beer! Fun fact: George is actually fluent in Hungarian!
Damo joined the DocSol team in January 2019 as our Storeman. He is responsible for managing all functions of stock and equipment in our Service warehouse. Originally from Melbourne, he moved to the Gold Coast for a lifestyle change and enjoys fishing, mountain biking, movies, BBQ’s and the outdoors.
Originally hailing from Melbourne, Dan moved up the coast when he was around 12 and, as a man of many talents, has had a varied career since including retail, surveying, and even stonemasonry! He is now our Storeman working behind the scenes to get your machines to you in perfect nick. Outside the office, Dan loves video games, golf, and AFL.
Mark has been part of the Doc Sol team since 2010 and is our Senior I.T Tech. Mark provides incredible support both remotely and in person and has a wealth of knowledge to offer. He was also instrumental in implementing PaperCut (Print Management Software) into Queensland Education. Mark has gained his Diploma in IT-Networking and has worked professionally in the IT industry for over 10 years. For any technical questions, Mark is your man!
An experienced technician, Mik has worked in IT for 25 years and his favourite part is managing cloud and server environments. Outside of the office, Mik enjoys gaming – both computer and board games – and loves music, playing in the Benowa Brass Band.
While he might be named Ghenel on paper, you probably know him by his preferred name Elly! Armed with a Bachelor of Computer Science, Elly has been navigating the tech landscape since his graduation. In that time, he’s amassed a trove of skills that span server management, DNS, websites, and the ins and outs of Microsoft 365. Outside of work, Elly loves exploring new locales, snorkelling, diving, and completing mountain treks. He is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast and a dedicated pet lover, (he has 5 dogs and 7 puppies!).
Lai has been in the IT industry for 8 years now. She has acquired Microsoft certifications like AZ-900, SC-900 and ITIL V3 Foundation. She is fund of learning and continues to upskill by enrolling in online courses that can enhance her knowledge and skills. She also loves cat, and she loves playing online games. That is where she gets her Siamese cat name “Necalli” which is a character in Street Fighter.
