Our Commitment To The Environment

Our main environmental actions at DocSol:

• We partner with Cut2Shreds so all our sensitive documents are shredded, pulverised, and transformed into new recycled paper products. Our non-sensitive documents are placed in regular recycling bins.
• We recycle our toner cartridges via Cartridges 4 Planet Ark and recommend this initiative to our clients.
• We refurbish pre-loved machines that have been replaced. This saves many machines that otherwise could have ended up in landfill and instead gives them a second life back in our fleet.
• Machines that are past their life and unable to be refurbished are disposed of as per our Environmental Sustainability Policy.

We will continue to evolve our practices and adapt our plan to minimise the environmental impact of our products and operations as part of our commitment to a greener planet for our clients, staff, and partners.

In addition to our practices, our range of devices are among the most environmentally efficient available. Each brand we offer has their own sustainability measures:

Konica Minolta is recognised as one of the world’s most sustainable organisations boasting an impressive list of awards and recognition including Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for 2019 and 2020. KM have demonstrated innovation in their Green Product Features:

• Induction Heating Fixing Unit: Using induction to fuse toner reduces power consumption during sleep modes by shortening the warm-up time.
• Simitri HD Toner: Comprised of a biomass – a renewable organic resource made up of biological materials that exclude fossil fuels and generates considerably less CO² than conventional toner and is completely carbon neutral.
• Eco Timer: Automatically analyses usage and improves settings.
• Eco Meter: Information on toner and paper savings is displayed on the new Eco Meter, making it easy to assess environmental contributions by device, department, and user.

Epson has an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, predominantly exampled in their 2050 Vision: the target is a 90% reduction of CO² emissions across the lifecycle of all products and services. Epson Australia has also obtained notable awards and recognition including 3-time finalist status for the 10 Year Sustainability Life Award at the Gold Green Globe Awards. Epson are currently working toward improving Sustainable Packaging Guidelines and increasing the recycling loop and recyclable materials.

Brother Australia maintain environmental impact is a prime consideration at every stage of the product’s lifecycle from design, development, manufacturing, customer usage, and disposal, to reuse and recycling. Brother also retains a long-term partnership with Earthwatch Australia to facilitate critical conservation efforts focused on Climate Change and Sustainable Resource Management. Brother directly supports ocean research being conducted by Earthwatch into Climate Change in the Southern Great Barrier Reef and Ningaloo Coast.
